Frequently Asked Questions

Cooper Construction Information Resource

1. Is your company licensed and/or insured?
Yes, Cooper Construction is licensed and insured, and a current copy of our Certificate of Insurance is always provided upon request.

2. What kind of construction do you specialize in?
We are experts in all phases of construction (residential and commercial) and work with a network of local contractors to make sure you are getting the best job done from start to finish.

3. How long does a typical construction project take?
This is one of those “million-dollar questions” that no one ever really has an answer to. There’s not really a way to pin one down until a project is bid on, budgeted, planned, and ready to go to the final approval before work starts. Contact us today, and let's discuss your projects in detail- don't let your home projects stay on your "to-do" list any longer

4. How do you charge for projects? By the hour, job, etc.?
We have a general cost per hour/per crew member, and our subcontractors and receipts have a small contractor's fee (currently 24%) added to cover administrative costs in managing your project from start to finish. A cost summary is accessible to you anytime you need to review it to ensure you are within your project's budget.

All project costs in receipts and labor hours are tracked meticulously and provided to you with transparency throughout the course of the project in its entirety.

5. Do you have your own crew, or do you hire subcontractors?
Our goal is to manage and complete any project with the utmost professionalism.  We have our own crew but also work with a network of local vendors that have the same core work ethics and values that we have.  We only work with the best professionals in the area that Cooper Construction has been fostering and building for many years.

6. Who is responsible for getting the necessary permits?
Cooper Construction will obtain all of the permits and required approvals before beginning any work. We know your time is valuable, and we are the experts to trust that it’s done efficiently, expediently, and exactly as it should be done.

7. Do you offer free in-person estimates?
We offer cost-free estimates to discuss the work you are considering.  Whatever planning phase you are currently in-, contact us to go over the details so that we can provide you with a detailed estimate and discuss the possibility of working together to achieve your construction goals now or in the future.
